Fifteen years ago, Elijah Langley's world came to an abrupt halt with the death of his high school boyfriend. He keeps his past - and his sexual orientation - hidden until he attends a fundraiser for The Center for HOPE, an LGBT youth center, where he meets Adam Lancaster, HOPE's infuriatingly stubborn and sexy founder.
A survivor of a turbulent childhood, Adam understands better than most the challenges his youth face. He's drawn to Elijah's baby blues and devilish smile but refuses to compromise his values and climb back into the closet for anyone - not even the man showering time and money on HOPE. Months of constant flirting wear down Adam's resolve until he surrenders to his desires, but Elijah can't shake his demons.
When a youth from the center is brutally assaulted, Elijah must find a way to confront the fears and memories that are starting to ruin his life, so he can stand strong for those he loves.
Redeeming Hope (Audible Audio Edition) Shell Taylor Drew Rosenberg Dreamspinner Press LLC Books
This is not a complete story and comes only with a HFN ending. Two bonus chapters from the next book in the series are included and that ended with a cliffhanger.I would have liked this book if one of the MCs isn't such a douchebag. This is a story of Elijah and Adam. Elijah is bi but keeps the man-loving side of him in the closet. Adam is openly gay and runs HOPE, a non-profit centre for LGBT youth. This book tells of how Adam and Kollin, a youth from the HOPE centre, inspire Elijah's journey to self-acceptance and healing. I dislike Elijah immensely, it started from the stalking incident the first day he met Adam. Intense attraction or not, for a person to follow, watch, wait then pounce on another to me just lacks class and is down right creepy. The fact that he did this after writing a $100k donation cheque to Adam earlier that day just add on another level of douche-ness to his character. How else is Adam to interpret his motive behind the large and unexplained donation when his unsolicited advances follows so soon after. I am glad Adam shuts that kiss down fast. Believe it or not, Elijah's worse moments has yet to come, some of his treatments of Adam are rude, insulting and immature. Near the end of the book, I thought it better these two not be together. Adam deserves better and I don't plan to pick up book 2 because of that.

Redeeming Hope (Audible Audio Edition) Shell Taylor Drew Rosenberg Dreamspinner Press LLC Books Reviews
Redeeming Hope tells the story of Elijah, a tortured bisexual man whose attempts to bury his past seemed to be working for him—until the day a certain boy walks into his life and helps Elijah discover the man he truly wants to be. The friendship between Elijah and Kollin—their no-bullshit dialogue and the warmth and affection between the two—is one of the most endearing aspects of this book and absolutely worth the read on its own. But Shell Taylor gives us much more in her debut novel by introducing Elijah to the beautiful soul of Adam, an out and proud gay man whose life work is keeping LGBTQ+ kids safe from the harsh streets by providing shelter in every sense of the word. Adam falls hard for Elijah, even while realizing there can be no future for the two while Elijah remains tightly locked in his closet. As a reader, you feel Adam’s frustration of being caught in the storm of highs and lows while Elijah attempts to balance his public persona with his honest yearnings. The two men challenge each other in ways neither was ready for, with Kollin providing a tender counter note to their tumultuous love story. In the end, Shell brings us a most satisfying vision of redemption and hope for their shared future.
I had the great honor of meeting Adam, Elijah, and Kollin pre-release, and I can guarantee you all three characters will burrow deep into your heart. Lucky for us, Shell has already written Adam’s story (book two of the Home for Hope series) and book three, Kollin’s story, is in the works.
I just finished both Home for Hope books and I am hooked. I couldn't put them down. I just found out there is going to be a third one and I can't wait. If you want to laugh, cry and just say Oh yes then this is the series you don't want to miss...
Where to start?... This new author has my attention, that's for sure! Elijah and Alex are beautifully complex characters who will make you have all the feels! There should be a Home For Hope in every city and town!! Keep those words coming, Ms. Taylor!
freaking amazing ride, and proof that what you need and what you want are out there, you just have to open yoursefl up to love. this book made me laugh and cry, and want to bop Eli on the back of his head, it is all right there in front of you, don't be afraid of what can be yours. read it, you will love it, and now I am on to next.
Redeeming Hope was exactly what I had hoped it would be and then some. The characters were complex, flawed, and very human. Worth every minute of reading time and I can't wait for the sequel. Shell Taylor has done an amazing job describing the pain and solitude so many LGBT you and adults face while also highlighting the possibilities for all our futures. Job well done!
I really enjoyed the first half of the book. While I wasn't always on the same page & Elijah and Adam I did find myself rooting for them and able to see them together as a couple and sad by what they went through as kids. But at about the midway point I almost put it down because of two things. Despite the drama most the book is about Adam & Elijah acting like idiots, over analyzing their relationship, being passive aggressive, and in general acting like teenagers. Second is the we are told at the beginning Adam & Elijah are experts at what they do, yet how they act is the second half of the book illustrate that it must have been luck that kept both their businesses alive. How Elijah runs his business is anyone's guess. And I still can't figure out why both of them didn't end up accused of sexual harassment by Kollin's parents. It's a complete fairy tail that the Kollin's placement would have happened like it was in the book.
This is not a complete story and comes only with a HFN ending. Two bonus chapters from the next book in the series are included and that ended with a cliffhanger.
